appointments and what to expect

Skagit Dental Design is committed to the safety of all patients and staff and we continue to make every effort to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. We appreciate your cooperation and patience in this effort. 

Per requirement and guidance of the WA State Department of Health

we require patients, visitors and staff continue to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth. 

Please only remove once instructed. 

Since May 2020 we have implemented additional measures in accordance with the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Washington Department of Health.  

Please review these questions prior to your appointment:

  • Do you have any of the following new symptoms:
    • Fever ≥ 100.0 F
    • Cough, shortness of breath, sore throat
    • Muscle aches, fatigue, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache 
    • Loss or reduced sense of smell/taste
  • Have you been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 30 days?
  • Have you had close contact with a person who has confirmed COVID-19 or is being tested for COVID-19 in the last 14 days? Close contact includes:
    • Living in the same household as a person with COVID-19
    • Caring for a sick person with COVID-19
    • Being within 6 feet of a sick person with COVID-19 for 10 minutes or more
    • Being in direct contact with secretions from a sick person with COVID-19 (being coughed on, kissing, sharing utensils, ect)
  • Are you a healthcare professional with potential exposure to patients with COVID-19? If yes:
    • Have you been exposed to a patient with COVID-19 when you were not wearing a mask in the past 14 days?
    • Have you been exposed to a patient with COVID-19 who was not wearing a mask, when you were wearing a mask, but no eye protection in the past 14 days?

At your appointment:

  • You may now check in from your vehicle or in-person. If you check in from your vehicle, we will call you in when your provider is ready for you.  
  • Please use hand sanitizer provided at the entrance and before leaving your treatment room. Sanitizer is readily available throughout the office.
  • We will ask you about COVID-19 exposure and symptoms again and will check your temperature prior to treatment
  • You may bring a support person if necessary into your appointment.  All companions will also be asked to follow the same protocol above and will be screened.
  • All staff in the office will be wearing masks, and clinical staff will be wearing additional high level PPE to protect themselves and you.
  • You may find the office colder due to our air purification systems and we recommend wearing warm clothes or layers to your appointment. We do have clean, cozy blankets if you get cold during the appointment that are laundered on site between each patient. 
  • We continue to implement rigorous infection control process with disinfection of surfaces and common areas, sterilization of instruments, and barrier protections.
